While typical express processing for a Russian visa takes at least four working days, Russian visa centers offer an expedited service, known as a "Blitz Visa", for tourists who need to travel urgently. For all other visa types, a Blitz Visa can only be issued upon presentation of an invitation from the General Directorate for Migration of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, or a fax sent to the Russian Consulate in London. For a single or double entry, a copy of the invitation is sufficient, but an original document is required for an annual visa.
The prerequisite is that the complete application documents are fully submitted by 09:00 AM at our office in London. In this case, the visa can be issued by the following business day. If the application is received after 9 AM, processing within two working days is possible.
Attention: If the visa centers, embassy, or consulates are closed, the issuance of the visa will be accordingly delayed. Saturdays and Sundays are not considered business days. Visa issuance is also not possible on UK (and some Russian) public holidays.
For example, an application submitted on Friday for expedited processing at the visa center can only be picked up the following Monday, unless it is a public holiday, as no other working days intervene.
By comparison: An express visa submitted on Friday is only ready by the following Wednesday, unless public holidays extend the processing time.
