Types of Visas for Russia

Among the various types of visas available for Russia, three are commonly used in practice:

The Tourist Visa is the most affordable and fastest to obtain, making it commonly used for:

• Short business trips
• Language courses up to 30 days
• Private visits
• Transit stays

Duration of Stay:	Maximum 30 days
Number of Entries:	Single, Double
Validity Period:	30 days

Purpose:	Business trips
Duration of Stay:	Maximum 90 days within 180 days
Number of Entries:	Single, Double, Multiple
Validity Period:	Up to 12 months

This type of visa can also be issued as an Annual Visa for Business Travel. Special regulations apply to this visa type. Please note the processing time guidelines.

For a Work Visa (up to 90 days stay, either for single or double entry within 180 days), a registered invitation is necessary, which can be obtained through our firm. For work stays exceeding 90 days, a work contract with a company based in Russia and a negative HIV test are required.

To obtain a Student Visa, an invitation from a Russian school, language institute, or university is required. If the stay exceeds 90 days, a negative HIV test is also required.

Based on an invitation from a governmental entity, the so-called "Humanitarian Visa" is issued. This type of cultural visa is used for scientific, cultural, or sports purposes. It also covers trips as part of a student or youth exchange program.
