FAQ South Korea – The most frequently asked questions about the visa for South Korea

The electronic visa for South Korea (K-ETA) is issued within approximately 2–10 working days in the standard processing. If it is urgent, you can choose premium processing. In this case, your application will be given the highest priority.
The electronic visa for South Korea (K-ETA) allows unlimited entries to South Korea within two years, with a stay of usually 90 days per entry.
Passport holders from the following countries currently qualify for an electronic South Korea visa (K-ETA): Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Dominica, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Albania, Andorra, Croatia, Cyprus, Monaco, Slovenia, USA.
Since 01.09.2021, it has been possible to enter South Korea with an electronic visa. This requires online registration, which must be done at least 24 hours before the entry date (in premium processing).
For tourists or business travelers, the electronic visa (K-ETA) is sufficient. However, if you plan to study or work long-term in South Korea, you need a traditional visa.
The electronic South Korea visa (K-ETA) costs £120 in standard processing and £280 in premium processing (including VAT and all fees). With the premium service, your application will be given the highest priority.

  1. Step 1: Please fill out the application form online (it will be automatically transmitted to us digitally)
  2. Step 2: Upload the required documents directly in the form or send them later by email: eta@1avisum.de
  3. Step 3: Send the payment receipt by email
  4. The electronic visa will then be sent by email after issuance.

For the electronic visa (K-ETA), it is not necessary to hand over your passport in the original. In addition to the online application, you must send us three scans in pdf or jpg format:
  • Passport copy (main page with photo). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry to South Korea
  • Biometric passport photo in the format 3.5cm x 4.5cm (color, with a light background)
  • Payment receipt
A current biometric, color passport photo (not older than 6 months) in standard size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (as a file in pdf or jpg format, max. 3 MB) is required.
Since September 2021, visa-free entry to South Korea has been suspended (with few exceptions). The easiest way to apply for a visa is online using the electronic system (K-ETA) and it is valid for 2 years as long as the provided data remains unchanged and the passport is valid for long enough.
