This visa allows a stay of up to 90 days on a single entry basis. Those wishing to stay longer can apply for an extension with the Thai Immigration Bureau. A "Re-Entry Permit" is necessary for travelling outside Thailand and returning during the visa’s validity.

Digital Application Process

Since 22 November 2021, all applications are processed through Thailand’s user-friendly ETA system (Electronic Travel Authorization), which is accessible online. This streamlined method enables applicants to fill out forms easily and upload necessary documents like a passport copy, a recent photo, and other required documents online. A significant simplification is that only a copy of the main passport page is needed. After processing, the electronically issued visa is immediately sent via email, making the entire process faster, safer, and more environmentally friendly.

Documents Required for the Thai Non-Immigrant Visa "O"

Applicants need to provide:

• Copy of passport (main page with photo, valid for at least 6 months)
• Current biometric passport photo in colour
• Registration certificate for EU citizens or residence permit for non-EU citizens
• For individuals with Thai spouses/relatives:
  1. Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate)
  2. Copy of the ID card of the Thai spouse/relative
  3. Proof of financial means (payslip, pension statement, bank statement with at least £1,000)
• For individuals over 50 without Thai relatives:
  1. Proof of a pension of at least £1,700 net monthly or a bank balance of at least £20,000
