Types of Visas for Vietnam

There are typically only two categories of visas used for Vietnam:

• Single Entry Visa, valid for 90 days
• Multiple Entry Visa, valid within a period of 90 days

Tourist visas are commonly applied for as they are the least bureaucratic and allow free movement within Vietnam. Business appointments are also generally handled with tourist visas.

However, a business visa can be granted upon presentation of a business invitation. This may be particularly useful if you are operating a trade booth in Vietnam or performing installation work.

What a Vietnam Visa Invitation Must Include

The invitation must be issued by a company or institution based in Vietnam (e.g., a trade fair organiser). It should be on company letterhead, displaying the postal address and telephone number of the company. Additionally, it must include the name of the invited person along with their date of birth and passport number. The invitation is only complete when it has been signed and stamped.
