HOW IT WORKS

How Your 1-Year Indian e-Visa Works?

  • โ—Multiple entries, one visa. Come and go as many times as you like while your visa is valid, with no need to apply again between trips.
  • โ—180 days a year, in total. Your combined time in India across the calendar year can't go over 180 days. If you're travelling back and forth, keep a running total of your stays rather than counting each trip separately.
  • โ—Your year starts the day your visa is approved, not the day you land. Unlike the 30-day visa, which starts counting from your first entry, your 1-year visa clock starts ticking as soon as it's granted. Apply too far ahead of your first trip and you'll be using up validity before you've even travelled.
  • โ—Fixed once issued. Your visa can't be extended or converted to another type once you're in India, so plan your trips within the 12 months you've got.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No, it's a running total for the calendar year, not a fresh allowance per trip. Add up all your visits between January and December; together they need to stay within 180 days.
Probably not. The 1-year visa earns its keep when you're making repeat trips. For a single visit, the 30-day Tourist eVisa is the cheaper, simpler choice.
No. Whatever visa you hold, the calendar-year stay limit is still 180 days. The 1-year visa buys you the freedom to come and go as often as you like within that limit, not a longer single stay.
From the date your eVisa is approved, not from your first trip. If you apply well before you plan to travel, you're already using up part of your 12 months.
No. India Tourist eVisas cannot be extended or converted once you are in India. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and apply for a new visa before re-entering. Plan your trip carefully within your permitted stay period.
Yes, with conditions. Short-term yoga programmes and informal courses in language, music, dance, arts, cooking or medicine are permitted, provided the course does not exceed 6 months and does not issue a formal qualification or certificate. A letter from the institute on official letterhead is required.
You must enter India through one of 31 designated international airports or 5 designated seaports. Entry at land borders is not permitted on a Tourist eVisa. You may exit India through any authorised immigration checkpoint. The full official list is maintained by the Indian government and may be updated โ€” check the official India eVisa portal before you travel.
If your application is rejected, we will contact you promptly to advise on the reason and next steps. In most cases, rejections are due to document issues that can be corrected and resubmitted. The government visa fee is non-refundable, but our team will do everything possible to resolve the issue before your travel date.
Processing time begins once your documents are confirmed complete and payment is received. We recommend applying at least 7โ€“10 days before travel to allow time for any corrections.
The 30-day Tourist eVisa allows double entry. The 1-year and 5-year Tourist eVisas allow multiple entries, with a maximum stay of 180 days per visit.
