Yes. British citizens require a valid visa or OCI card to enter India. Valid Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders are exempt.
Yes — provided you hold a standard British Citizen passport. BN(O) holders, British Overseas Citizens, British Subjects, British Protected Persons, and British Dependent Territories Citizens are not eligible and must apply through the Indian High Commission.
The 30-Day Tourist eVisa is for a single fixed trip. The 1-Year Tourist eVisa allows multiple entries with each stay up to 180 days. The 5-Year Tourist eVisa suits frequent travellers with the same per-stay limit. If there is any chance you may return within 12 months, the 1-Year or 5-Year option gives better value.
A valid British Citizen passport (6+ months' validity, at least two blank pages), a recent passport photo with white background, a scan of your passport bio-data page, valid email address, intended travel dates, and a credit or debit card.
Apply at least 4 days before arrival. The 30-Day eVisa window opens up to 30 days before travel; 1-Year and 5-Year applications can be submitted up to 120 days before departure.
