No. India Tourist eVisas cannot be extended or converted once you are in India โ this applies to the 5-year eVisa too. Each visit is capped at 180 days regardless of how long the visa itself remains valid; if you need to stay longer, you must leave and re-enter on a fresh permitted stay.
Yes, with conditions. Short-term yoga programmes and informal courses in language, music, dance, arts, cooking or medicine are permitted, provided the course does not exceed 6 months and does not issue a formal qualification or certificate. A letter from the institute on official letterhead is required.
You must enter India through one of 31 designated international airports or 5 designated seaports. Entry at land borders is not permitted on a Tourist eVisa. You may exit India through any authorised immigration checkpoint.
