British citizens must obtain a visa before travelling to Myanmar. Tourist eVisa applications are available online; check that your nationality, purpose and entry point qualify before applying.
Before you apply
Check current FCDO regional warnings first: advice against all travel or all but essential travel applies to parts of Myanmar. A visa does not remove these travel risks.
Application preparation
- Use the official tourist eVisa route or ask the Myanmar Embassy which visa fits your purpose.
- Prepare a passport valid for at least six months after arrival and the current supporting documents specified by the issuing authority.
- Check the permitted entry points, official fee and processing information before payment.
- Wait for approval before travel and follow the permission’s entry and stay conditions.
Business travel
Business eVisa applicants need sponsorship by an eligible registered Myanmar company or Chamber of Commerce association, with an invitation and registration evidence. Do not assume tourist requirements cover business or employment.
