The electronic visa for Egypt is the official online tourism route for eligible nationalities, including British citizens. The application is completed online, but the Egyptian authorities retain the final decision on both the visa and entry.
What is the Electronic Egypt Visa?
The Egypt eVisa allows eligible travellers, including British citizens using an ordinary passport, to apply online for tourism. The passport remains with the traveller throughout the online application.

Eligibility checks
- Eligibility depends on the nationality shown in the passport used for travel.
- Diplomatic, service, special, official, temporary, refugee and other non-ordinary travel documents are not currently accepted by the eVisa portal.
- Incomplete applications may be rejected, and an issued eVisa does not guarantee entry.

The electronic Egypt visa is a tourism route. Business activity or paid employment may require a different visa or permit.
Please note: Processing time only includes business days (Monday to Friday) when the respective visa office / embassy is open (i.e., not when closed due to holidays or public holidays).
