Key Details

An up-to-date business invitation meeting specific formal criteria is required for the business visa. The invitation must include the applicant's birthdate and full name, be written on company letterhead showing postal address and telephone number, and be hand-signed and stamped.

The invitation should specify the date or period of required presence and clarify the business relationship and tasks in China. A printed scan of the invitation suffices.

Depending on the timing and length of engagements, the invitation may cover one, two, or multiple visits within 3, 6, or 12 months. Typically, each entry is capped at 30 days, but stays of 60 or 90 days (up to 180 days for single entry) are possible if justified.

The visa office determines whether a business visa or a short-term work visa is required based on the invitation. Sometimes a deployment letter from the employer is necessary.

Validity and Duration

The China Business Visa allows entry for 90 days from issuance. Once entered, the visa is valid for 30, 60, or 90 days (up to 180 days in exceptional cases). Both entries must occur within 180 days for double-entry visas.
