The Chinese Multiple Entry Business Visa (Types MH and MI)

China Multiple Entry Visa

The Multiple Entry Visa is a subcategory of the Business (M) and Cultural (F) visas. Issued for six or twelve months, it allows unlimited entries, typically for stays of 30 days each. In justified exceptions, stays of 60 or 90 days are possible. Exclusively granted to businesspeople or scientists โ€” not available for students or tourists, except cruise tourists whose ships dock in Chinese ports more than twice.

If the applicant already has a Multiple Entry Visa from the last two years, or two Business Visas from the last two years, only a business invitation specifically issued for multiple visits needs to be submitted.

Conditions for Issuance

  • The invitation from the Chinese business partner must explicitly express that the visa be issued for "multiple entries over the next 6 or 12 months", with each stay lasting 30, 60, or 90 days.
  • For the 6-month visa: demonstrate at least one China visa of the same type obtained in the past 24 months. For the 12-month visa: two previous visas of the same type (or one Multiple Entry Visa) from the past 24 months.

The visa office will check the passport for previous visas. If the current passport is new, photocopies from an earlier or second passport are acceptable โ€” including a copy of the first page of the expired passport.

Validity and Duration

The China Multiple Entry Visa allows frequent entries from the date of issuance for six or twelve months. From each entry, it is valid for 30 days (or 60โ€“90 days in justified cases).
