Australia ETA Guide

• Valid for multiple travel during 12 months, or until the linked passport expires if earlier, with stays of up to three months per entry.
• Available for tourism, family visits and permitted business-visitor activities; it does not permit paid work for an Australian organisation.
• Each traveller applies separately and must use the same passport for travel.

Eligibility checks

• The passport must be from an ETA-eligible country or jurisdiction. British Citizen and British National (Overseas) passports are listed under the United Kingdom.
• Applicants must disclose other passports, previous names, criminal convictions and domestic-violence history accurately.
• An applicant with a criminal conviction should use the Visitor visa (subclass 600) route and provide evidence.
• Australian citizens cannot apply for an ETA, including when travelling on another eligible passport.

What the Australian ETA app requires

• An NFC-enabled mobile device, the applicant's physical passport, a live facial image, a valid email address and a payment method for the government app service fee.
• The app reads the ePassport chip and sends an email verification code during the application.
• If a travel-industry representative assists, the applicant must be physically present with the representative, their passport and access to the nominated email account.

Our Odoo application form is used for eligibility screening and information preparation. It does not replace the government app's live passport, NFC and facial-image steps.

Decision timing

The authority says many ETA results are notified immediately, but an application can take longer when information is incomplete, difficult to verify or further evidence is required. No fixed approval window is guaranteed, and travel should not be arranged until the grant is confirmed in writing.
