UK citizens planning treatment in an Indian hospital or Ayurvedic clinic can apply for an Electronic India Medical Visa (ETA) entirely online.

Medical eVisa โ€” Additional Documents

Required
System-generated hospital invitation letter โ€” mandatory from April 2025; must be issued by a government-recognised Indian hospital through the official system and contain a unique reference ID. Applications without this letter are rejected outright.

Note: Validity is 60 days from first entry (triple entry). Extension to up to 6 months may be sought from the local FRRO in exceptional medical circumstances.
