FAQ

Frequently asked questions

UK nationals and citizens of 166 eligible countries attending accredited international conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia or similar academic events in India can apply. The event must be organised or approved by a recognised institution or government body in India.
You need your passport bio-data page (at least 6 months validity from arrival, 2 blank pages), a recent passport-style photo with a white background, and — crucially — a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) clearance letter issued through your host organisation in India. The official invitation letter from the conference organiser must also be submitted.
The Conference eVisa is valid for 30 days from the date of first arrival in India and permits a single entry only. It is not extendable and cannot be converted to any other visa category within India.
Yes, provided all events fall within your 30-day permitted stay period and you do not leave and re-enter India (single entry). If you need to attend events across separate trips, a new application is required for each entry.
You can apply up to four months before your intended arrival date. We recommend applying at least 3–4 weeks in advance, especially if MEA clearance is required, as this government-to-government process can take several weeks independently of our service.
You must arrive through one of 31 designated international airports. Entry at land borders or seaports is not permitted on a Conference eVisa. You may exit India through any authorised immigration checkpoint.
