This regular visa route is intended for skilled professionals, technical experts and project staff taking up employment or a long-term assignment in India. It is not an eVisa category.

Core requirements

• Confirmed employment or assignment in India with clear role and project details.
• Professional qualifications that match the proposed role.
• Contract and salary conditions that meet the current Indian rules.
• A passport with sufficient validity and blank pages.
• A completed regular visa application and compliant photograph.

Supporting documents

• Signed employment or assignment contract.
• Invitation letter from the Indian company or project sponsor.
• Employer support letter from the UK sending entity, where applicable.
• Evidence of the Indian entity's registration.
• Academic or technical qualification certificates.
• Passport bio page and biometric photograph.
